Volkswagen has recently launched the new Passat GTE on its local market, the base entry-level costing 44,250 euros as well as 45,250 euros. We are talking here about the plug-in hybrid version from the Passat which will take on the new Ford Mondeo.
The Volkswagen Passat GTE is splendid in terms of design, coming with an evolutionary body style, thanks to the C-shaped LED daytime running lights, new bumper at the front, the blue line on the chrome radiator grille, the 17-inch Astana alloy wheels, the blue brake calipers and a few more.
Inside, the cabin of the Volkswagen Passat GTE is getting a lot of fine materials, like the blue ambient lighting, multi-function steering wheel with blue decorative stitching, the Sevilla cloth on the seats, displays and the Composition Media coming with their specific menus and so on.
Under the hood, the Volkswagen Passat GTE will be packed by a 1.4-liter TSI petrol unit, developing 156 horsepower and backed by an electric motor which provides an additional 115 horsepower. The overall 218 horsepower and 400 Nm of torque helps the GTE run from 0 to 100 km/h in just 7.4 seconds, at a topping of 220 km/h.
Another interesting thing about the GTE is that is also fuel efficient, standing at an impressive 1.6L for every 100 km, with the CO2 emissions sitting at 37 g/km. The electric motor is also providing a 50 km mile range, which is not bad at all.
