The German folks at Volkswagen released first details and photos on a special edition based on the new-generation Beetle.
Named GSR Limited Edition, the new model comes with a retuned 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine producing 210 horsepower and linked to a six-speed manual transmission. An optional dual-clutch automatic gearbox is also offered as an alternative.
In terms of styling, the limited run model benefits from a yellow finish with black stripes, new 19-inch Tornado alloy wheels with 235/40 tires, and a panoramic sunroof.
Enter the cockpit and you will find leather upholstery, new seats, yellow stitching, a Fender Premium Audio system, ambient lightning, heated seats and much more.
Sadly, Volkswagen plans to produce only 3,500 units of the Beetle GSR Limited Edition, about 2,000 vehicles following to be shipped to the United States. The new model will reach the dealerships this fall, official pricing information following to be disclosed in the coming months.
