The Germans at Volkswagen released first details and photos on the new Scirocco, a model which receives a refreshed look for 2014.
Set to debut at Geneva, the hot coupe comes with new bi-xenon headlights incorporating LED daytime running lights, revised bumpers, new LED taillights and an improved front grille.
Power is offered by a 1.4-liter TSI engine producing 125 horsepower while the 2.0-liter TSI is still available in several power outputs (180hp, 220hp and 280hp). As you can see, all these engines received a power boost, same story in the diesel department as the 2.0-liter TDI is now producing 150hp or 184hp.
Inside, buyers will benefit from revised materials, a flat-bottom steering wheel, air vents and the Dynaudio Excite audio system. Last but not least, VW will offer the 2014 Scirocco with new exterior finishes including Ultra Violet, Flash Red, Pyramid Gold and Urano Grey.
The sportier Volkswagen Scirocco R will benefit from the 2.0-liter TSI with 280 horsepower but lacks the start-top system which is standard on the other variants. Pricing details are not available yet but an estimative debut date for Europe is set for August this year.
