Volkswagen announced their plans to introduce the all-wheel drive system known as 4Motion on the brand-new Golf. Therefore, the seventh-generation Golf will be available in four-wheel drive which is quite handy in several driving situations, mainly in this season.
Priced at €1,800, the 4Motion system is currently available only for certain versions in the range.
To be more specific, it is offered with the 1.6-liter TDI engine producing 105hp and 250Nm of torque. In this configuration, it sprints from 0 to 100 km/h in 11,5 seconds, hitting a top speed of 187 km/h.
If you want more power, there is the 2.0-liter TDI which also gets the all-wheel drive system. The more potent diesel unit is capable to deliver 150hp and 320Nm of torque for a 0-100 km/h sprint in 8,6 seconds. If the base TDI unit returns a fuel economy of 4,5 liters/100km, the 2.0-liter unit comes with an average of 4,7 liters/100km.
Obviously, it comes with better top speed figures as well, namely 211 km/h or 131 mph.
