The Swedish people at Volvo unveiled the 2014 V40 and V40 Cross Country, two models which receive few styling improvements but also new engines under the bonnet.
To be more specific, you will find a new 1.6-liter engine producing 120 horses and 240Nm of torque. Fuel economy figures are rated at 5,3 liters/100km or 44,3mpg US with CO2 emissions of 124 g/km.
On the other hand, the D2 diesel engine producing 115hp gets improved CO2 emissions of 88 g/km when coupled to a six-speed manual transmission. If you opt for the automatic gearbox, you will get 102 g/km for the V40 and 108 g/km for the bigger V40 Cross Country.
In terms of styling, the 2014 Volvo V40 keeps the same line with the outgoing model with few exterior and interior tweaks.
“Buyers of the successful V40 also have the opportunity to choose the new Sensus Connected Touch system with unique on-line possibilities, including voice-activated Spotify,” adds the company.
