Models such as S80, V70 and XC70 will get soon a revised version of the 2.4-liter unit known as D5. The new D5 five-cylinder engine develops 215 horsepower and 440 Nm of torque but manages to obtain a lower fuel consumption by up to 8%, according to the official statements.
Of course, each of the three models reminded above that will benefit from the new unit will deliver different figures. Talking about Volvo V70, the revised unit will provide a fuel consumption of 5,1 liters/100 km with the manual transmission and 6,2 liters/100 km for the automatic one. In terms of CO2 emissions, Volvo V70 will issue 134 g/km respectively 164 g/km.
For the XC70 the fuel consumption ranges from 5,6 liters to 6,8 liters each 100 kilometers once again depending on the transmission. Volvo S80 fitted with the revised 2.4-liter diesel will offer a fuel consumption that manages to drop under the 5 liter barrier and CO2 emissions of 139 g/km.
Opting for the automatic transmission you will getter slightly poorer performance, the fuel consumption stops at 6 liters/100 km and CO2 emissions at 158 g/km.
