The VW Beetle R concept it is not a novelty for us as the German company already introduced the sporty model at the Frankfurt Motor Show earlier this year. However, we got some cheering news from Volkswagen as they declared at Los Angeles that the Beetle R concept may enter the series production, great news indeed.
Under the bonnet, the Volkswagen Beetle R concept packs a 2.0-liter TFSI engine which delivers slightly more power than the Beetle Turbo version, not exactly known though.
At the exterior, the German concept sports bigger 20-inch Talladega alloy wheels hiding contrasting blue calipers, new front and rear bumpers, extended wheel arches and a new rear wing. Entering the cabin, you will find glossy black parts, aluminum pedals, bucket seats and Nappa leather.
