It passed 35 years since Volkswagen introduced the first Golf GTI, a good occasion to reveal a new special edition, dubbed “Edition 35”, a special version that comes with an updated engine alongside, of course, a bunch of aesthetic improvements both at the exterior and interior.
The Germans from Volkswagen fitted the “Edition 35” with LED lights for daytime running integrated into the front optical blocks, smoked windows, a black finish for the front grille and a set of new alloy wheels. Entering the cabin you will find high quality materials such as a new fabric upholstery and a revised gearshift lever.
The interior also gets special “Edition 35” badging that can be seen on the seats, head rests and door sills while outside the fenders get the same plaques. If the majority of car manufacturers won’t operate mechanical improvements for such special editions, Volkswagen decided to revise the 2.0-liter TSI engine which now produces 235 horsepower.
This means that additional 25 horses are available, power which should help the German model to obtain a better sprint. Unfortunately, these official figures are missing for now but we got the pricing of the Volkswagen Golf GTI “Edition 35”. The model is priced at €30,425 included VAT and can be ordered right now by the German customers.
