Volkswagen is currently testing the all-new and extremely powerful Golf GTI Clubsport S, the sports car being recently seen on the Ring, running the whole lap in a record time of 7:49:21, with German driver Benny Leuchter behind the wheel.
Once it will emerge on the market in a limited edition of just 400 units, it will be declared the fastest hatch on the Ring.
Speaking about performance, the Volkswagen Golf GTI Clubsport S uses a modified 2.0-liter TSI flat-four engine, fully equipped with new fuel pump, remapped ECU and custom exhaust system. This allows an output of pure 310 horsepower and 280 lb-ft of torque, enough to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in an impressive 5.8 seconds. The top speed is set at 250 km/h.
Besides the sheer performance, the Golf GTI Clubsport S also comes fully loaded with additional interior bits, the model being “fine-tuned to suit the unique conditions” around the track.
We are looking here at serious modifications carried out inside as well, like two light-weight racing seats, special seat belts finished in red, sport steering wheel, aluminum brake covers, center armrests and more.
The body has been left untouched, the limited GTI Clubsport S featuring a racing kit consisting of bi-xenon headlights, LED daytime running lights, tinted rear windows, 19-inch Pretoria alloy wheels with semi-click Michelin Sport Cup 2 rubbers, or aluminum sub-frame for the front suspension.
The quickest three-door hatchback on the Ring will also come with a choice of exterior colors, like Deep Black Pearl Effect, Tornado Red and Pure White.
